Boatwork is the heart of what we do here at Alloy Stainless & Marine. We specialise in prop shafts and have a well-equipped machine shop to rebuild or sleeve and machine those worn or damaged shafts or custom make prop shafts up to 76mm in diameter by 3 metres long. Our machinery includes a Scott Lathe for most machining tasks, an H Press for cutting, folding and welding sheet metal, a milling machine, a press break, a guillotine, welders and grinders.

We also supply and machine bearings from bronze and plastic, gearbox couplings, hinges, rudders and rudder shafts from 2205 grade duplex to plastic anchor rollers, posts and exhaust manifolds as well as external and internal keyways and keys to suit. You can also talk to us about manufacturing stainless steel fuel and water tanks. We will supply the material, fold it up to your specified dimensions and weld it into shape.

Most of our marine engineering work takes place in our workshop conveniently located on Riverside Drive close to Whangarei CBD. However, our highly qualified and experienced team can also work on boats up in the hardstand or while afloat on the water depending on what needs to be done. We offer aluminium hull repairs and have helped many boaties after they hit a rock. In the past, we have further been involved in boat refits, fabricating and providing the necessary parts.

In addition to the extensive welding and engineering work we offer, we carry a small stock of spare parts on site. However, we also work closely with a trusted supplier in town and can order and deliver most things on the very same day so you never have to wait around long until your problem is solved.
